A petition of the Balize Telegraph Company asking leave to have their lines extended from the Telegraph Coffee-house to a point near the Canal Street Ferry landing was read and on motion of Mr. Bernard their demand was granted provided the same does not in any way obstruct the public highways

J. D. Sollee's bill of seventeen dollars was read and on motion and the rules having been dispensed with, was ordered to be paid.
Syndic ordered to barricade Patterson St.

On motion of Mr. Bernard it is ordered that the Syndic be instructed to have Patterson's Street, above and below the place near the Second District Ferry landing where the Bank of the River has caved in, barricaded in order to prevent carts and other vehicles from tumbling in the River.
Opelousas Rl Rd tax receipts book referred to Finance Comtee

On motion of Mr. Hughes it is ordered that the Opelousas Rail Road tax receipt book referred to the Finance Committee with full power to have the same put in a proper condition.
